So it has been more than 24 since the pins went in. I have regained full sensation of my pinky, yesterday it was numb like it was asleep. but ~knock on wood~ there is no pain. So either they did something very right, very wrong, or my brain isn't wired right. I am back at work today. no worries. I go in monday for the follow up and to have a proper cast put on. at that time i will hopefully find out if i will be good for pennsic. :-) I do have pics, but i have not scanned them yet... so if you want to see them you will have to come visit. :-)

Surgery went swimmingly. i woke up from my nap completely lucid and not the least bit groggy. cool huh? so its now more than 12 hours and i haven't needed to take any pain meds yet, i hope that is good. i go in next monday to get my cast put on. so we'll se how it goes. having my left hand completely immobilized is rather annoying, but i'll live. i'll post more as the week goes on.

With your host.... Me!
Friday night was AWESOME! They Might Be Giants played an Amazing show! They dug out all the old hits and even played some stuff that i never would have expected, like Fingertips. ( this wil turn out to be prophetic so stick with me) The venue was pretty cramped and redonkulously hot, it seems due to the rain the air handler was not working well. I still had a blast! After the concert we went to Plague for customer appreciation night. We had some more fun, Susie danced while i came down from my concert high. Saturday morning. We got up early to visit the local AA&T store and i pre-ordered the new 3GS 16 GB iPhone! release date is scheduled for Friday 19th, but we will see when it actually get in. Then it was off to Goth Fly a Kite! the annual event when the Maine and now New England crowd invade Ft. Williams and Care Elizabeth's Family Fun Day, and fly Kites! I was able to get all three of my Star Wars kites up in the air. Had my X-Wing get shot down by the Tie-Fighter screaming "They came from behind...." it was fun. Even got some action shots with the Tie fighter in front of the Giant flag at the park. Then we played kick-ball. I had brought a warped, deformed kickball from Marden's to make the game more interesting. That it was! After falling while chasing a catch over my head (i think the webs has the video evidence of my athletic prowess, or lack thereof, ) I got back up and threw the ball beofre realizing that my left pinky no longer pointed in the same direction as its neighbors. I remarked as to how odd that was and after comparing it to my right hand determined that this may need ice. i walked up the hill, told my wife who imeadeatly insisted we go to the hospital. So we packed up the kites, and left. Sash snapped some photo evidence of the iconoclastic pinky, and i drove myself to maine med ER. 4.5 hours later the take me in and say "yep its broken" splint it, poorly i might add" and give me some ibuprofin and send me on my way. it didn't hurt until they moved it straight, so now i was in a bit of pain, it was 8:45 and i wanted to go to the club! So we went home and changed and i went to medicate myself with liquid pain relievers. This morning i got a ride in to work as driving is kind of painfull rightnow. my lovely wife will be back soon to pick me up and take me to the dr. office so they can look at my finger this morning. i am not sure if the fact they wanted me in this morning is good or bad.... guess we'll see!

Concert Tix to Nine Inch Nails "Wave Goodbye" tour........ hmphrmumbleph dollars 3 hour drive there through Boston's rush hour and the 3 hour-never-ending-night-construction ride home........ The cost on my metal health was immeasurable The dry, nasty pretzel... $5 The "souvenir*" cup of soda.....$6 The "jumbo" hotdog **......$5 The smile of pure euphoria on my wife's face when 10,000 people sang along with her and Trent on "Hurt" for the last time .... worth it all.
* apparently the souvenir was for TBS's Failed Bill Engvall show ** It was for the wife, not me.
